Hello,
If I understand, being an American allows you to make a donation and not declare it so ISF ?
But… I am not :(.
Will think of a donation, sometimes… :P

My understanding of that post is that Americans may be able to take a tax deduction for their donations. Non-Americans can still donate, but whether or not they get a tax deduction will depend on how their nation's tax laws treat American non-profit entities. In particular, the last point on the FAQ suggests to me that at least some (maybe all?) European Union taxpayers can get a tax deduction when donating to the German-based Gentoo entity, even if they are not eligible when donating to this new arrangement.
As always, consult your local tax law (or tax lawyer) before relying on this when dealing with your local taxing authority. |
