It has been over 2 months and freenginx is not going away.
Are there any plans for ebuilds for https://freenginx.org/?
I see https://bugs.gentoo.org/925098 but nothing is being done so far.
How much longer do you intend to wait? |

This is a very simple package. You don't need it in portage to use it. Portage won't be of much help if that's what you're hoping for, the hard part is configuring it for which portage is of no use. Even the default prefix is /usr/local, so it won't mess with your installation. You can manually install and then use it.
You really must focus on configuration because I tried it and it created a bunch of temp directories in the install prefix, which should be configured to be done somewhere else, most likely in /var/cache or /var/tmp.

About 6 months after you provide a sample ebuild in an overlay.
I'd suggest taking a look the the nginx ebuild for starters. _________________ Donate to Gentoo |

I think it'll appear on ::guru sooner or later.
I made a short post under the bug, asking if someone could post an ebuild, and referenced this topic. _________________ ..: Zucca :..

I had the same thought at one point but nginx-1.25.4 is over 1k lines, I don't think it would be that simple.
