Dear all,
I'm using palemoon 33.1.1 from the respective overlay. Since about yesterday after the usual somewhat-daily sync, for which I didn't notice any hiccups, I get the following:
Code: |
~ # nice emerge -puUDN --exclude 'gentoo-sources' @world
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:
Calculating dependencies | * ERROR: www-client/palemoon-32.1.1::palemoon failed (depend phase):
* eutils.eclass could not be found by inherit()
*
* Call stack:
/ * ebuild.sh, line 632: Called source '/var/db/repos/palemoon/www-client/palemoon/palemoon-32.1.1.ebuild'
* palemoon-32.1.1.ebuild, line 7: Called inherit 'palemoon-5' 'git-r3' 'eutils' 'flag-o-matic' 'pax-utils'
* ebuild.sh, line 277: Called die
* The specific snippet of code:
* [[ -z ${location} ]] && die "${1}.eclass could not be found by inherit()"
*
* If you need support, post the output of `emerge --info '=www-client/palemoon-32.1.1::palemoon'`,
* the complete build log and the output of `emerge -pqv '=www-client/palemoon-32.1.1::palemoon'`.
* Working directory: '/usr/lib/python3.12/site-packages'
* S: '/var/tmp/portage/www-client/palemoon-32.1.1/work/palemoon-32.1.1'
| * ERROR: www-client/palemoon-32.1.0::palemoon failed (depend phase):
* eutils.eclass could not be found by inherit()
*

the same message seems to repeat for 32.1.0, 32.0.0, 31.4.2, 29.4.6, but then emerge just proceeds as usual, i.e. updating packages eventually. I suspect it's a side effect from the recent python upgrade (which I had hoped to have more or less covered), the more as palemoon still seems to need 2.7. Any ideas?
Thanks, Ralph

Complain to that overlay maintainer to either drop old ebuilds or update them for removed eclasses. This has nothing to do with recent python changes |

few days and one sync later the problem went away all by itself. Sorry for blaming the python upgrade, which had a few hiccups but here just randomly coincided.
Cheers, Ralph |
