Yesterday KRDC started to fail to connect to Windows Server 2022. The password is accepted, the remote system screen appears briefly, then connection is lost. The admin can connect, though. We thought we figured out the problem, when we disabled the "Share Media" folder and KRDC started connecting for all users. Looks like after the latest update Server 2022 by default prohibits mounting shared folders for non-admins, and disabling that rule allowed KRDC to work once again.
Today I had similar problem on Windows Server 2019, but disabling the shared directory did not help. Then Server 2022 started to do the same. Then they suddenly started working again. What may be the cause?
The solution, which is better than nothing: Quit KRDC, then start it and connect to all remote machines again. Connecting with a shared folder works first several minutes after KRDC start. |
