Hey, I was wondering how to use the command. Code: | dracut --kver=6.6.21-gentoo | I think that I'm using it wrong but I just can't figure out how to use it. I already have the dracut use flag enabled but it seems like it didn't work. I simply have not been able to get dracut to work at all. I even tried to manually install but when I checked for dracut with Code: | ls /boot/initramfs* | I simply got a message stating Code: | ls: cannot access '/boot/initramfs*': No such file or directory | I am really confused and don't have any idea what to do.
Just for reference, I'm installing Gentoo with the minimal installation CD. I am also using an intel-based 2011 ASUS (E56U). I don't know if that information is helpful but I thought that I might just put it out there.
Kind regards, _________________ Smart people learn from their mistakes but wise people learn from other peoples mistakes.

Also when I typed out Code: | dracut --kver=linux-6.6.30-gentoo | I received two errors Code: | dracut[F]: Cannot find module directory /lib/modules/linux-6.6.30/gentoo/ | and Code: | dracut[F]: and --no-kernel was not specified | then to check and see what was inside the /lib/modules file/directory is used but it spat out another error Code: | ls: cannot access '/lib/modules': No such file or directory | I don't know what I did wrong so that it isn't there but then I looked in /usr/src/ with and it gave me two valid outputs and Code: | linux-6.6.30-gentoo | if you have any idea what I am doing wrong or if I need to just reinstall the kernel please let me know. _________________ Smart people learn from their mistakes but wise people learn from other peoples mistakes. |
