btw. I still have python 3.11 on my system. NO PYTHON_* declared anywhere though. I also had several issues upgrading to 3.12 default. Maybe something is still borked?! |

Not a proper install, only ebuild compile, but there's no reason it would differ from emerge python.

Not a proper install, only ebuild compile, but there's no reason it would differ from emerge python.

I'm not sure what you mean but I've executed all emerge command as root. And my system drive and /tmp also has plenty of diskspace

Did you use su, sudo, doas et.c. to gain root privileges or did you simply login as root? If you used a command to gain privileges, what was the command?

logrusx wants to know how you started the root shell:- Log in as root on a text console / serial console
- Log in as a user, then use /bin/su - to get a root shell with a clean environment
- Log in as a user, then use /bin/su to get a root shell with parts of the user's environment inherited
- sudo
- Something else?

Right, sandbox is correct to deny these accesses. They shouldn't even be attempted. Disabling sandbox is definitely the wrong solution. |

Ah okay, I logged in as root on the text console no X or anything fancy. No su or anything else. No changes in my configuration. Never saw anything like this.
I've also masked dev-lang/python-3.12.4 and reinstalled the previous version and the same thing happens. So I guess something is off on my system.

I bet some of this stuff breaks portage. You don't need maybe half of it. For example the java stuff. You can control the java home and similar with eselect java-vm.
I hope somebody more knowledgeable comment on your .bash_profile. I'm not sure if this would circumvent /etc/profile.

your "emerge --info" has
PYTHONPATH="/root/.local"
works it without this? |

@saski4711 do not do that for root. You're messing portage which is run by python.
