Hi,
According to the latest log, the error is with phy...
Maybe I should turn on debug somewhere else as well, to find what the issue is? If so - where?

Thank you.

Hi,
I used to have NetworkManager along with dhcpcd on my laptop and everything was working fine.

I have an Intel Wirless card.

(Initially I had dhcpcd + Wayland, but then changed to use X and the update picked up the NM).

System was updated, I now have a new kernel, but after removing dhcpcd and configuring the system to have just NM, I started getting error about not starting wlan0.

The dmeg can be found here.

The error is: "[ 6.485949] ieee80211 phy0: Failed to add default virtual iface".

Is there a way to get more info about the error? If not - how can fix my WiFi?

Thank you.

Hi,
I just turned on all options in the "Networking Support -> Wireless -> Select mac80211 debugging features", but still the dmesg shows jut the line in the OP.

What am I missing?

I have the gentoo-sources 6.6.21.

Thank you.

Moved from Desktop Environments to Networking & Security and merged it into one topic.
Also the guidelines specifically discourage cross-posting and splitting the same problem across multiple threads (item #12) --Banana

Hi,
According to this, it is recommended to replace wpa_supplicant with iwd.

I am still using wpa_supplicant.

Is it possible it is causing problems with the interface loading somehow?

Thank you.

Hi,
I just tried to go back to dhcpcd.

Re-emerged dhcpcd, then ran:

Code:

rc-update del NetworkManager default
rc-update add dhcpcd default

and rebooted.

It failed to load wlan0 interface.

During the boot I see the message:

Code:

Interface wlan0 do not exist

and dmesg still shows:

Code:

Failed to add default virtual interface

The soft link does exist and "ls -la /etc/init.d/net.wlan0" does display it

So I can't even go back to the place I was.

Anybody have an idea what could be the problem?
