Mouse and keyboard not working after running 'startx'

I have googled around a bit and haven't found anything that really helped. This is a completely fresh install. At first my mouse and keyboard worked fine, but after changing my kernel to gentoo-kernel-bin for some debugging purposes on a seperate issue, i ran into this problem. Switching back to my old kernel config did not solve the problem, the usb devices are still not functioning.

I've got my gentoo install booted up in a tty so if you need further information about my system I'll be able to give that

Switched to evdev and everything works as normal.
