I followed the news item to uninstall the old texlive stuff and then install the new. It all seemed to go OK. But the log files for app-text/texlive-core-2023 include the error line:
Code: | Error: postinst
Command "/usr/bin/fmtutil-sys --all" failed with exit status 10 |
Should I be worried? To me this is all a black box (well, sometimes gory innards of TeX escape, but I try my hardest to cram them back in...)
There's no build.log to investigate.
I use TeX through app-office/lyx-2.4.0, which seems at first sight to be working OK, producing PDFs as I'd expect (mostly, I have a small issue with a font that I installed myself under the previous texlive and lyx versions). _________________ Greybeard |

Probably not. I had the problem that "texhash" was not called in the correct moment during installation (or with a wrong config), and I guess that the cause of your problem is the same.
Try to run "texhash" as root and then to reinstall e.g. texlive-basic (or anything else which will trigger a regeneration of the formats); I assume that it works then. |

I did, and it did. No more error message. Thanks. _________________ Greybeard |
