Hi,

Has anyone else encountered this?

I've just installed FlightGear and the starting positions are completely screwy. I've selected a Cessna 172 and parking spot 1 at Keflavik and hit "Fly" and the cold & dark aircraft is hovering about 100 feet above the ground. Other aircraft are also oddly-positioned, but not quite as high.

Is this a known issue with a quick fix or do I need to dig deeper?

What version of FG is this and where did you get the scenery from? Are you using the GUI launcher?

I'd try starting it from a terminal using as few options as possible (i.e. don't specify aircraft OR location) and

--enable-ignore-autosave
and see whether you get a sensible startup

Hi,

It's

games-simulation/flightgear-2020.3.19::gentoo  USE="dbus openmp qt5 udev utils -debug -examples -gdal" CPU_FLAGS_X86="sse2"
- the default from Portage for ~amd64. The C172P is one of the aircraft that ships with FlightGear, as is Keflavik Airport. I did initially use the GUI launcher to start it.

Starting it with
Code:
fgfs --ignore-autosave
results in the same issue (although the starting position is elsewhere on the airfield).

I might give -9999 a try and see what happens.
