Hi my gentoofriends

I am using Plasma 6. In /etc/portage/package.accept_keywords are softlinked files from the kde repo:

Code:
kde-frameworks-6.4.keywords -> /var/db/repos/kde/Documentation/package.accept_keywords/kde-frameworks-6.4.keywords
kde-gear-24.05.keywords -> /var/db/repos/kde/Documentation/package.accept_keywords/kde-gear-24.05.keywords
kde-plasma-6.1.keywords -> /var/db/repos/kde/Documentation/package.accept_keywords/kde-plasma-6.1.keywords

The latest update gives:

Code:
# emerge --ask --verbose --update --deep --backtrack=300 --newuse world

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Do I now have to uninstall slot 5 with "emerge -C"? Or how can I solve the problem the clean way?

Best regards
not Hans

Add --tree to the update command, to see what exactly is pulling in kf-env 5.

Code:
#emerge --ask --verbose --update --tree --deep --backtrack=300 --newuse world

These are the packages that would be merged, in reverse order:

So "x11-terms/kitty" is the root of all evil?

Absolutely not.

Something requires kf-env:5 and prevents you from going to :6. This will show you what requires :5:

Code:
emerge -pvc kde-frameworks/kf-env:5

pinentry was merged with both gtk and qt5 USE flags. That's what /actually/ pulled in kf-env:5.

You are right, thanks for pointing me to that. I still have problems understanding the connections of portage things. I still need to get more experience.
