I tried toinstall firefox this is what the emerge ouput spitted out:

Code:

ERROR: media-video/ffmpeg-6.1.1-r5::gentoo failed (configure phase):

It seems the problem is with ffmpeg.

Yes, ffmpeg failed to build. If you need help resolving this build failure, please follow the instructions that Portage showed when it failed, which you quoted.

Please post the other materials that Portage prompted you to post, too.

You will need wgetpaste for the build log: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Wgetpaste

You guys are the best!

Code:
emerge -pqv output

Code:

setlocale: unsupported locale setting
--- Invalid atom in /etc/portage/package.keywords: media-video
setlocale: unsupported locale setting

 * IMPORTANT: config file '/etc/portage/package.use/module-rebuild' needs updating.
 * See the CONFIGURATION FILES and CONFIGURATION FILES UPDATE TOOLS
 * sections of the emerge man page to learn how to update config files.

https://bpa.st/QSSQ:
Include the log file "ffbuild/config.log" produced by configure as this will help
solve the problem.
Please share this file as well. A pastebin is fine.

I can reproduce your error by
  1. Unmerging media-libs/libsdl2, and then
  2. emerge -1v --nodeps media-video/ffmpeg
But unless I include --nodeps, Portage reinstalls the missing libsdl2, so it's not a dependency issue with the ffmpeg ebuild. It looks like libsdl2 is installed on your system but damaged in an unknown way. You could try
Code:
emerge -1va libsdl2
and report any errors you see here. If you don't see any errors, retry your firefox emerge (which will try to build ffmpeg) and report any issues you see.

Google Drive fails to render due to a JavaScript error. A simple wget on that URL shows no sign of your content. Perhaps someone else can help you, or you can find the section of the config.log that addresses the specific failure.

so I tried to rebuild the libsdp2 and the same thing still happened when I was trying to install firefox-bin.

Sane pastebin is here.
