Hi,
I couldn't update my system for some weeks now. Yesterday I read the news regarding texlive.
But using the given command gives me some error messages:
Code: | emerge -p '>=app-text/texlive-2023'
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

It may be possible to solve this problem by using package.mask to
prevent one of those packages from being selected. However, it is also
possible that conflicting dependencies exist such that they are
impossible to satisfy simultaneously. If such a conflict exists in
the dependencies of two different packages, then those packages can
not be installed simultaneously. You may want to try a larger value of
the --backtrack option, such as --backtrack=30, in order to see if
that will solve this conflict automatically.
For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man
page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook.

The news recommended to first uninstall *texlive*/* (IIRC), and perhaps some more. Obviously, you have not done this, yet.
Also, presumably you should upgrade all of @world, not only texlive. |

Thank you for your reply mv.
You were right I had misread the instructions. This happened after I had to update my system step by step because of a lot of blockers.
boost, poppler, numpy and so on.
After pointing me into the right direction my update process went smooth.
Thy again, problem solved. _________________ Mircosoft software is like having sex with a stranger, you always have to be careful not to get infected with something... |
