I dual boot Gentoo (beginner) and EndeavourOS. I use nmtui on both OSes to connect to the internet. I've been using Gentoo for 1 or 2 months now and have been able to connect to all the wi-fi routers that I tried. Until I got home from university and realized I can't connect to my home Wi-fi. It straight up doesn't show up in nmtui. On EndeavourOS I can connect just fine, but on Gentoo it doesn't even show up.

I don't really even know what info I should be pasting here.

Be sure to let me know if I can help with more info.

Oh btw I use mullvad VPN if that changes anything, but I do that on other devices and I'm still able to connect to the internet. I'm currently on my phone's hotspot since I don't have another option.

If you have full control over the router settings, disable WPA while leaving WPA2 enabled on the wifi.

If this is not possible, then enable the tkip USE on net-wireless/wpa_supplicant to enable the less secure and deprecated method which is confusing wpa_supplicant when both are present.

Yup, you were right!

I couldn't get to the settings of the router since the default gateway kept loading something without actually showing the page.

But adding the USE flag, updating wpa_supplicant and rebooting the system worked.

Thank you so much!

If you can now get to the router, with wireless working over the deprecated and insecure TKIP, I suggest you use this opportunity to fix the router, then disable TKIP again.

I can't access the default gateway address from the browser it doesn't load. It seems to be loading something but never finishes.

Not all routers are configured by visiting the default gateway in a browser. Consult your owner's manual for how to configure this one.
