|
|
At least I think it is with Python that the issue is... I found a thread with a similar but not the same issue, emerge complaining about python_single_target. The error is as follows:
Code: | emerge --pretend freecad
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:
Calculating dependencies /
!!! Problem resolving dependencies for media-gfx/freecad
... done!
Dependency resolution took 2.30 s (backtrack: 0/20).
!!! The ebuild selected to satisfy "freecad" has unmet requirements.
- media-gfx/freecad-0.21.2-r3::gentoo USE="addonmgr fem gui idf image inspection material openscad part-design path points raytracing robot show surface techdraw tux -cloud -debug -designer -netgen -pcl (-qt6) -test" ABI_X86="(64)" PYTHON_SINGLE_TARGET="python3_12 -python3_10 -python3_11"
The following REQUIRED_USE flag constraints are unsatisfied:
python_single_target_python3_12? ( gui? ( qt6 ) )
The above constraints are a subset of the following complete expression:
exactly-one-of ( python_single_target_python3_10 python_single_target_python3_11 python_single_target_python3_12 ) designer? ( gui ) inspection? ( points ) path? ( robot ) python_single_target_python3_12? ( gui? ( qt6 ) ) |
But when I run emerge --info I get:
Code: | emerge --info
Portage 3.0.63 (python 3.12.3-final-0, default/linux/amd64/23.0/split-usr/desktop/plasma, gcc-13, glibc-2.39-r6, 6.6.13-gentoo x86_64)

According to this PYTHON_SINGLE_TARGET="python3_12". So to me that looks like it is what emerge wants for freecad.
Or am I reading the emerge output wrong? Wouldn't surprise if I do because I don't really can make head or tails of it what is exactly the problem. Python_single_target is at the front so I assume that is what it is complaining about. _________________ Expert in non-working solutions

You are reading it wrong. Spanik wrote: | Code: | !!! The ebuild selected to satisfy "freecad" has unmet requirements.

You have set python_single_target_python3_12 and USE=gui. Unfortunately, USE=qt6 is masked on this package at this time, so you cannot set it. We had at least one other thread about this.
Unset USE=gui, or switch this package back to python3_11 for now. |

Ok, so I understood the message wrong. I'll wait till it becomes available then, my experiences with Python being what they are...
The other thread I found was someone that had in his python_single_target 2 versions of python. _________________ Expert in non-working solutions |
