|
|
Obviously, there is a file counter in /usr/src/gentoo-linux-X.Y.Z-gentoo
which is incremented unter some condition, as echoed in the snippet: Code: | Kernel: arch/x86/boot/bzImage is ready (#33) |
Where is this #33 value stored?
Side note: executing 'make clean' doesn't reset.

arch/x86/boot/Makefile snippet: Code: | $(obj)/bzImage: $(obj)/setup.bin $(obj)/vmlinux.bin $(obj)/tools/build FORCE
$(call if_changed,image)
@$(kecho) 'Kernel: $@ is ready' ' (#'$(or $(KBUILD_BUILD_VERSION),`cat .version`)')' |
Code: | cat /usr/src/linux-6.9.10-gentoo/.version
