I bought two of these QSFPTEK 2.5Gbase-T Realtek RTL8125B Network Cards for my main and spare machines.
Fitted it in the spare machine and turned off ASPM (pcie_aspm=off) after seeing all these AER pci errors spamming the logs, all was good and network tests showed 2.53Gbps. Great. So I fitted the second card into my main machine, same issue with ASPM, so turned that off, and booted up.
Running iperf3 hangs the network card during the test.
I've tried moving the card between the different PCIe slots on the X399 Taichi main board. When I put it in the PCIe x1 slot it didn't even show up in lspci ???
I've a theory the card doesn't like the Asrock X339 main board as it works well in the spare machine, that one has a Asrock B550 Pro4 mainboard. Maybe it's PCIe issues ...
Any recommendations for any other 2.5GbE (or even 10GbE) network cards that does work on the Asrock X399 mainboard please? _________________ Cheers,

Maybe it's a faulty card. Have you tried the working card from the spare in the other system, and/or the not working card in the spare? _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

It might be that this card needs PCIe 4.0 to work at all, as it works on the spare machine that's PCIe 4.0, whilst my main machine is PCIe 3.0.
I've just bought an Intel X550-T1 10GbE network card and it'll be here by the end of the week. Hopefully that should be OK as it supports 10, 5.0, 2.5 and 1 Gbp/s on PCIe 3.0 and future proof me for when pure 10GbE switches get cheaper.
I'll send back these 2.5GbE cards if this works. _________________ Cheers,

Sorted, the Intel X550-T1 card works perfectly. I'll be returning these crappy QSFPTEK 2.5Gbase-T Realtek RTL8125B Network Cards soon. _________________ Cheers,
