Hey all, Well heres the problem in a nut shell:
I just came home from univ and brought my comp along with me, i had recently installed Gentoo on it and it was working fine on the Univ lan, with no problem at all. Here at home though i have no idea how to set it up.
All i can tell u is that it is a rogers connection. And i think i have to change computer name the same way u do in windows to get it working.
Can someone tell me if this is rite and how to do this? and what else i need to do?
Thx.... _________________ The Only Thing Necessary for The Triumph of evil is for Good Men To do Nothing!... |

which hardware do you have ?
only a modem ? router ? switch ?
maybe even you have 2 network adapters and some crossover cables ?
Thats not so dificult to setup, once you find a way which box is going to be the gateway for the other box, or use DHCP from a router ..

The instructions you used to install networking the first time are still there:

No thats not my problem i have the right hardware and know how to set it up, i dont' know how to edit the os. (not caring about the comp at home) I just connected my comp with gentoo directly to the cable modem, it still doesn't work! I think i need to edit something... _________________ The Only Thing Necessary for The Triumph of evil is for Good Men To do Nothing!... |
