Hi,
My question is about using /etc/portage/profile as same as Portage profile. I mean without create a private repo.
I am currently design my stage4 build. I am using catalyst for this. I understand I can use stage4 spec that have "stage4/packages" tag to list all my target stage4 packages.
However I would like to create a structure such that I don't have to list them in the stage4 spec file. So my idea is to use same structure as the Portage:Profile directroy structure. i.e. put a "pacakges" and/or "packages.build" and so on. so my stage4 spec file can be minimal.
Can /etc/portage/profile be use this way? Or this is not possible it must be done in a local repo?
The idea is such creation can be served as document/record for future catalyst run or simple emerge update. |
