Hi, after recent upgrade to Plasma 6 and switch to default Wayland, fulls-screen applications (games) no longer upscale* correctly. Instead, I get small display area, not even centered, surrounded by black border. Is this to be expected or can it be fixed? Thanks.

*it probably wasn't upscaling but rather a mode change on X

Out of curiosity, does toggling 'Legacy Applications (X11) Apply scaling themselves' and 'Scaled by the system' in SystemSettings>Display & Monitor have any effect?
It would probably help to know what specific applications and games you are referring to. Are these native applications or are you using wine, etc.

Toggling those settings didn't have any effect. I am experiencing this with both native eduke32 and Stronghold Crusader in wine, so it seems to be generic issue. When I start X, instead of Wayland session everything works fine.

That is good information. I am sorry I am not able to offer much help.
Is it possible to force wine or your programs to run under Xwayland by using
GDK_BACKEND=x11 with the command? For example, I currently do this with Thunderbird:

Code:
GDK_BACKEND=x11 thunderbird

That didn't help either.

Relevant lines of terminal output from eduke32:
Code:
 0.0996s INFO| Initializing SDL 2.28.5 (SDL-release-2.28.5-0-g15ead9a40)
ATTENTION: default value of option mesa_glthread overridden by environment.
 0.2828s INFO| Using 'x11' video driver.
 2.2908s  GFX| Setting video mode 800x600 (32-bpp fullscreen).
ATTENTION: default value of option mesa_glthread overridden by environment.
 2.3059s  GFX| OpenGL driver: Mesa Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 (IVB GT2) 4.2 (Compatibility Profile) Mesa 24.1.6
 2.3059s  GFX| OpenGL context: version 4.2
 2.3060s  GFX| Refresh rate: 60.00Hz.

It appears to be the same whether run with or without GDK_BACKEND=x11.
