|
|
Greetings,
until a few days ago, I had a system that has one gpu and runs either linux or windows inside a vm with the only gpu as vfio.
with the stabilization of kde6, I had to upgrade because portage didn't upgraded anything.
as kde6 requires wayland, I had to enable it.
after a few days of fighting with the system I was able to switch to kde6.
but ever since, the windows vm freezes on boot.
infact, it freezes on the gpu detachment.
dmesg reports this:
Code: | [ 2457.352480] NVRM: Attempting to remove device 0000:05:00.0 with non-zero usage count!
|
both fuser -v /dev/nvidia* and nvidia-smi returns no processes found.
so before I start looking for kde replacement, I'd like to know if there is a possible solution for this.
frankly. I find it hard to believe there is no solution as I know there are linux users that run a windows vm for gaming _________________ Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity and I'm not sure about the former - Albert Einstein |

solved.
so it seem like nvidia driver + wayland and virsh detach doesn't play along.
I'd suggest not compiling nvidia driver with wayland if one intends to pass the gpu to a vm.
banning this flag on the driver works. _________________ Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity and I'm not sure about the former - Albert Einstein |
