I've been having problems for a while now, so I think its some sort of config thing.

Basically DDClient, which I *think* is a perl script, can't seem to lookup any domain names:
Code:
ddclient: WARNING: cannot connect to www.nzadsl.co.nz:80 socket: IO::Socket::INET: Bad hostname 'www.nzadsl.co.nz'

But if I ping the host www.nzadsl.co.nz it works and I get replies, i.e. the DNS lookup works.
Then if I try the ddclient script again, it works, I think it's because it's getting the ip from a local cache? Of course this isn't satisfactory because at some point I assume the local cache will be inconsistant with the domain's ip....

So, any ideas? Thanks!

What service are you using ddclient to update from? What does your config file look like?
