I've been having problems for a while now, so I think its some sort of config thing.
Basically DDClient, which I *think* is a perl script, can't seem to lookup any domain names:
Code: | ddclient: WARNING: cannot connect to www.nzadsl.co.nz:80 socket: IO::Socket::INET: Bad hostname 'www.nzadsl.co.nz' |
But if I ping the host www.nzadsl.co.nz it works and I get replies, i.e. the DNS lookup works.
Then if I try the ddclient script again, it works, I think it's because it's getting the ip from a local cache? Of course this isn't satisfactory because at some point I assume the local cache will be inconsistant with the domain's ip....
So, any ideas? Thanks! |
