Does Plasma 6 work with X instead of wayland?
Which display manager do you use (e.g. sddm, lightdm?) |

Please slow down and give us more details.
- what exactly is happening, did you never sucessfully get into the Plasma Wayland session?
- paste your emerge --info
- do you have plasma-meta installed?
- when you "try from console", what exactly do you run?
- delete ~/.cache to rule out an upgrade problem from that end
- as tomtom69 said, try with X session instead of Wayland, just select it from your display manager UI
- try the same with a newly created testuser profile |

In addition to previous message points:
do you use sddm and wayland?
You can disable it with
systemctl disable sddm
and start plasma with
unset DISPLAY; dbus-launch startplasma-wayland _________________ OS: Gentoo 2.15 gcc13/14/15

So, as others have noted to try, please make sure you are starting a X11 session (the default is wayland, and unsure if it can detect that wayland is unusable to change that). If that didn't help, see the other things asturm mentioned. |
