Hi, I'm trying to make an uki+efistub setup with installkernel, but it seems that the uki use flag pulls systemd-boot, whereas it shouldn't be needed, because efistub without systemd should just use sys-boot/uefi-mkconfig to make the EFI stub which doesn't need systemd nor any boot loader in any way. Is this related to the dracut use flag which is on? If I need to disable it, can I or should I use something else to make the initramfs?

An EFI stub does not need systemd-boot, but a Unified Kernel Image (UKI) does; a UKI is built with a kernel and a so called "UEFI boot stub program", and currently only systemd-boot provides an implementation of a UEFI boot stub program.
