Is it safe to disable ssl and various other secure encryption use flags (crypt, gnutls, ssl etc) or will it open any security holes in my system?
I almost never use SSL nor gnupg and frankly have no idea how it all works  |

Oh ... you are using it ... all the time ... watch what portage does when you emerge a package (after fetching it and before unpacking it)
