Hello all,
As it says. After the upgrade from plasma 5 to 6, when I connect to an external monitor things are unstable. What happens is after a few windows are open, it appears that parts of plasma crash. The desktop is partially working then, but random windows will crash.
I am happy to post any information you need to help diagnose the problem. I'll start by posting my graphics card:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation TigerLake-H GT1 [UHD Graphics] (rev 01) |

your original problem was fixed?
Any backtrace of the crashes?
If programs crash, that is not Plasma. What programs are crashing? Desktop panel and windowmanagement works fine? |

I think so. Under display, I turned "Screen tearing: Allow in fullscreen windows" off.
However, that was a different computer (a desktop). This problem is on my laptop.
I can give backtraces of crashes. Will these still be in certain logs?
As far as I can tell, to some extent plasma is crashing. The background goes black and the panel disappears. the virtual desktops remain, but various aspects of the desktop don't work. And random applications crash (google chrome, okular, alacritty, neovim-qt etc etc). These crashes only happen when using the second monitor. |
