This is really strange. sddm can start X11 session, but when logging in as Wayland, it goes to black screen and then goes back to the greeting screen.
But if I go to a terminal and sudo /etc/init.d/display-manager restart, logging in as Wayland will be OK.
~/.local/share/sddm/wayland-session.log (failure)

~/.local/share/sddm/wayland-session.log (success)
https://bpa.st/C7VCO
/etc/inittab
https://bpa.st/XR2G2
/etc/sddm.conf.d/01gentoo.conf
https://bpa.st/RXJAG
/etc/sddm.conf.d/kde_settings.conf
https://bpa.st/VS45W
Any idea?
Thanks very much. |

Hi nelsonleezonhat,
I've had the same problem a few weeks ago and it takes ma also a lot of hours to sort this out.
AFAIR a remerge of sddm and/or kdm solved this curious problem for me.
