I installed kodi by using emerge. Running a RPI5 using gbm and pulseaudio. I had set the use flag to use the system-ffmpeg but all of a sudden I couldn't use simple iptv to play streams as the unable to play error would popup. I then re-emerged and disabled system-ffmpeg and the iptv streams started working again. The problem is that other addons crash when using the bundled ffmpeg. I have two microSDDs with one that has bundled and the other with system-ffmpeg set as use flags. Bundled means I can play IPTV but other addons crash. System-ffmpeg means no simpleiptv but other addons work. I can transcode the stream link by using the system-ffmpeg so I don't know why kodi would have issues with the ffmpeg. Did I miss a flag that is needed like dbus for the system-ffmpeg.?

Seems like your system FFMPEG might not have features your plugins need? Maybe you need to adjust the use flags on FFMPEG?

Yes you missed some use flags, probably "network".

Thanks for the help. Here are the use flags that were used by default. Am I missing some?

media-video/ffmpeg-6.1.1-r8::gentoo was built with the following:
Code:
USE="[color=red]bzip2 dav1d encode gnutls gpl iconv libdrm libxml2 network pic postproc soc threads zlib[/color] -X -alsa (-amf) (-amr) -amrenc (-appkit) -bluray (-bs2b) -cdio -chromaprint -chromium -codec2 -cpudetection (-cuda) -debug -doc -fdk -flite -fontconfig -frei0r -fribidi -gcrypt -glslang -gme -gmp -gsm -hardcoded-tables -iec61883 (-ieee1394) -jack -jpeg2k -jpegxl -kvazaar -ladspa -lcms -libaom -libaribb24 -libass -libcaca -libilbc -libplacebo -librtmp -libsoxr -libtesseract -libv4l -lv2 -lzma (-mipsdspr1) (-mipsdspr2) (-mipsfpu) -modplug -mp3 (-nvenc) -openal (-opencl) -opengl -openh264 -openssl -opus -oss -pulseaudio (-qsv) -rav1e -rubberband -samba -sdl (-shaderc) -snappy -sndio -speex -srt -ssh -static-libs -svg -svt-av1 -test -theora -truetype -twolame -v4l -vaapi (-vdpau) -verify-sig -vidstab (-vmaf) -vorbis -vpx -vulkan -webp -x264 -x265 -xvid -zeromq -zimg (-zvbi)" CPU_FLAGS_ARM="[color=red](neon) (v8) (vfp) (vfpv3)[/color] -asimddp -i8mm (-thumb) (-thumb2) (-v6)" FFTOOLS="[color=red]aviocat cws2fws ffescape ffeval ffhash fourcc2pixfmt graph2dot ismindex pktdumper qt-faststart sidxindex trasher[/color]"

Just taking a guess here but it's probably openssl x264 x265 and maybe xvid.
