Correlation is not causation.

What is "X11 only support"? Do you mean no stutters when you log into an X11 session *now*?

What is "it" in that sentence? Context? |
The current version of KDE/Plasma 6.1.5, framework 6.6.0. |
Does not really answer my question - what do you think is a "Wayland to X11" video bridge? |

Isn't it? Software should be strict working or not. After all it is just maths.

For me this means it works in wayland and at the last minute translates it badly to x11. when previously working directly working in x11 it works without flaws and then when working in wayland and translating it works not at all. So progress is going the wong way: backwards. _________________ Expert in non-working solutions |

"translating it"? Are you making wild assumptions right now how a Plasma Wayland session works?

No, that's not how it works. Bugs can surface in the weirdest ways (especially if you enter the wonderful world of Nvidia drivers), depending on different code paths, and what you describe may happen be it in X11 or a Wayland compositor, nothing special here. But since you are very sparse on information, that tells me also you don't really want to get it resolved and you're resigned to "that's all caused by that Wayland thing". |

I cannot resolve it because I'm not a programmer. (and I'm not using nvidia drivers either) I can just observe that a lot of things that worked before stopped working because of that shift to wayland. And I'm not the only one if I look at this and other forums. So stop pretending that wayland is just better because it is new and you are a fan of it because it works for you. It obviously doesn't work as good as what it is pretending to improve. _________________ Expert in non-working solutions |

You're not even telling us if you for once tried to switch into an X11 session instead of Wayland "right now". It doesn't take one to be a programmer for that.
Please kindly cut the crap with assumptions about how things work or what other people "are fans of" if they simply reach out to you. If you want to vent, take it to Gentoo Chat, but if you are in a support thread, then behave like it. In here, every post you spend on going on a tangent and failing to do *your part* in helping debug your issues is a waste of everyone's time. |

I have the suspicion that you want to continue from thread https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1171509-highlight-.html here. You didn't provide any information there either. You have now expressed your opinion that wayland was delivered too early several times. Our developers have decided otherwise.
If you really want support for your individual problem, create a new thread and provide as much information as possible about your system. At least those mentioned here https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/User:Pietinger/Overview_of_System_Information and your kernel configuration if you are not using our dist-kernel.
Further complaints about wayland, without a genuine desire to troubleshoot, only bind our developers and are neither useful nor desirable. _________________ https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/User:Pietinger |
