I had been using KDE 6 with some success until KDE 6.2 (and later) releases arrived. Now, I can logon and everything seems to start OK until after about 5 minutes when the log message tailer dies and Nagios sends me an email saying the desktop is down. Looking at the system messages I see:
Code:

etc...

I searched on Wayland, Nouveau and loops and discovered a mountain of grief. So is there any solution to this? (My current one, using XFCE + Kvantum is working worryingly well!) I saw some posts about people blocking the load of Nvidia and Nouveau drivers and using the Intel ones, but when I tried it nothing loaded but maybe I should have specified an Intel module somewhere? KDE 6.2 with the Xserver does start, but Plasma refuses to stay up; it works with a fresh user but it is too much work to reconfigure everything.

Any advice would be welcome. In November 1997 two things happened (amongst others): KDE Beta 2 was released, and I badly sprained my ankle and couldn't go to work for a week. The rest is history! :D

Well, thanks for all the helpful suggestions, the community has surpassed itself! Next project: working out how to make XFCE work with kdeconnect.

Can't help you sadly but I'm very interested in your quest for XFCE. I'm at KDE 6.15 + nouveau and after reading your post above I don't risk to update this pc anymore.
