Hello all

I just followed this guide to install Gentoo on a Pi2
https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Raspberry_Pi/Quick_Install_Guide

I get to the part where I put the SD card in the Pi2 and boot it. I do not have eth0. Are there
steps missing from that guide to have DHCP upon first boot or steps to follow
after to first boot to bring it up?

That guide has been archived and shold not be used.
The Pi2 is arm7 or even arm8 but it will run the arm6 code too.

From Pi2 rev 1.2 onward, they are slow Pi3s with no wifi. That means 64 bit CPUs. Earlier are arm7 32 bit.
I don't see where dhcpcd comes from there, or why eth0 should be started.

If you have busybox, it will have udhcpcd which will get you started.
Run busybox to see what is built.

udhcpcd eth0
should get you a lease but it will not auto renew.
