I have icewm installed on my laptop with the following use flags:

when my screen is idle for a while it goes into power saving mode and the laptop screen are turned off, when it wakes up from this mode upon pressing keyboard keys or moving the mouse only the laptop screen comes on, I can see the second screen led coming on but the screen does not come on automatically.
switching to another vritual terminal brings the second screen back on, then I can switch back to icewm, i would like to get the secondary monitor to wake up from power saving automatically.

I can see the following entry in xorg log when they are waking up from powersaving mode:

it's not an icewm thing, I'm trying out jwm and the problem persists

i built the intel graphics driver into the kernel and powersaving works as expected, I'm having other problems but that's for another thread.

powersaving is not working, but the hdmi screen comes up during boot, I'm still looking into it
