has anyone been able to make the asco patch working?

Greetings,

once again I find myself needing to use the asco patch but I'm unable to make it work, I've patched the kernel, compiled it and dmesg shows it is working.
grub is set to pcie_acs_override=downstream but I see no affect.
has anyone been able to make it work?
