Black Screen After Booting into Desktop Environment Gentoo

Hi Everyone,

I am encountering a black screen after booting into my desktop environment on Gentoo Linux. The system seems to be booting up normally, but once I reach the point where the desktop should appear, the screen goes black. I can still hear system sounds, but no display shows up.

Here are the details:

Gentoo Version: Gentoo 2024
Desktop Environment: GNOME
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GTX 1650
Log Files: Xorg logs, dmesg output
Steps I Have Tried:

Rebooting
Reinstalling the desktop environment
Updating drivers

Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Any help or troubleshooting suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

there are not actual "Xorg logs and dmesg output" (link or otherwise) in your post.

first of all: Welcome to Gentoo Forums!

Do you use our Gentoo distribution kernel or a manually configured kernel?

If the latter is the case, then please read:

Otherwise we need more information about your system. Do you know how to chroot back into your installation?
