I'm trying to use Denemo, but in order to play back it needs some program called "playmidi". I can change this to whatever I want, but I still need it to be something. Anybody know either where playmidi is or a command line midi player I can emerge? The thinner the better; I have a pretty simple ALSA set up and I don't want to go hacking at it forever. _________________ Windows, Linux, whatever. |

I don't have it installed myself, but I know that playmidi is the default midi player for the minimalistic command line music player waif, so it's probably close to what you're looking for. Get it from sourceforge.

pmidi works well, and is definitely a 'thin' player. If you're into that sort of thing, the source code is pretty short and quite informative.

emerge pmidi | Thin, it's anorexic! It looks about as long to compile as it did for me write this.
Now to test it. I like light. _________________ Linux, because I'd rather own a free OS than steal one that's not worth paying for.
