I am trying to use package.env to change the CFLAGS for ffmpeg. In /etc/portage/package.env I have
Code: | media-video/ffmpeg ffmpeg.conf |
In /etc/portage/env/ffmpeg.conf I have
but emerge keeps choosing the CFLAGS in my /etc/portage/make.conf (with -march=native) when emerging ffmpeg.
What am I doing wrong? |

I forgot CXXFLAGS. Trying now...
Edit: When I tried with CXXFLAGS set in the ffmpeg.conf file, it still didn't work. It only worked when I set FFLAGS and FCFLAGS. But I thought those are for Fortran, so not sure what happened. |

That seems worth checking with a dev on IRC or opening a bug report if you don't use IRC.
Maybe it isn't related, but the ebuild does contain: --optflags="${CFLAGS}"
So possibly something is happening out of order? But that doesn't explain why the FF(orttran) flags would cause it to work. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |
