Hello forum. Please tell me, is it possible for all traffic to my router to go through the VPS I rented? The main thing is that the IP is not the one that the provider allocated to me, but from the VPS |

It's possible, for example, this way works different VPN servers based on different protocols, as openVPN, Wireguard etc.
But your router must support these protocols. For example, I use rented VPS, AmneziaWG and Keenetic GIGA (kn-1011) router. _________________ 7950x3d / x670e MSI Tomagawk / Sapphire RX 7800XT 16Gb / G.Skill 64Gb 5600 / A-Data Legend 960 2Tb (x2), A-Data SX8200PNP 256Gb |

Or You are thinking "VPN" as in Virtual Private Network? |

pingtoo,
The answer is yes is either case.
A VPN is required in both cases, either to a random VPN provider or a VPN to your VPS.
Gentoopc,
Be aware that some sites restrict or change content based on the geolocation of your public IP. _________________ Regards,

VPS-in my understanding it is a virtual server. I think there is no need to explain what a virtual server is |

as it turned out, in reality everything is a bit more complicated. I don't want to use client applications, so I want to use a router as a client. The less software is involved in all this, the more reliable it will be. I was advised a router with Wireguard protocol support. I'm waiting for the purchase. It seems that there is already a VPS with Wireguard installed. What would you recommend, setting it up myself or renting a ready-made one? |

Gentoopc,
If you are going to rent a VPN end point, you need to be able to trust the provider an they will take all your traffic out of the tunnel ah send it to the internet.
They will know the sites that you use but not the data content, as long as you use end to end encryption. e.g. https. _________________ Regards,
