Not sure whether this should be under hardware or not, but...
I have some mp3's on a cd that seem to not have their names read properly under linux. It uses the shortened, "dos like" versions of their names, instead of their full names. When I copy files to my hard drive, they show up like that as well. It kind of annoys me since I had them organized by Artist (folder name), then Album (folder name), then track num - track title. and they show up like 01- suchandsuch.mp3. Is their any way I can fix this? I think it might have something to do with the filesystem. I have iso9660 file sys support built into the kernel, so, any other reqs? |

The kernel option for Joliet extensions: Quote: | Joliet is a Microsoft extension for the ISO 9660 CD-ROM file system which allows for long filenames in unicode format (unicode is the new 16 bit character code, successor to ASCII, which encodes the characters of almost all languages of the world; see <http://www.unicode.org/> for more information). Say Y here if you want to be able to read Joliet CD-ROMs under Linux. |

I have joliet and iso 9660 file system support built into my kernel, yet the files on the cd still show up with shortened names. They aren't too long themselves, just track numbers and then track titles, yet they don't show up correctly. Any more ideas? |
