Good day, Gentoo users,
A while ago, I discovered the font Kochi Mincho, and I've been in love with it ever since. It is a serif monospace vector font which may look pixelated depending on its type-size but still retains its serifs. For reference, this is what it looks like in my Alacritty with font size 12. Notice how it's clearly pixelated, but it still has the serifs–the thing I like about it. But there's one big issue with it. Because it was designed primarily for Japanese characters, the only Latin characters included are the basic ones. This means that it can't render characters like Ü, É, Ç, etc. So if I typed "Der verärgerte Ökonom", the font would show "Der ver rgerte konom".
Now, I want to make a request: is there any font similar to Kochi Mincho that has extended Latin support? If so, please tell me about it; I'd really love to have such a thing. If there isn't, I might at well learn how to make a fork of Kochi in FontForge or so I say.
Thanks! _________________ Do not go gentle into that good night. |
