I'm trying to install the desktop display tools (x11-base/xorg-server), but this and several other things I've tried fail in wget being unable to resolve host address. And the address is like distfiles.gentoo.org.
I'm wondering if I'm missing some configuration. All other emerge commands seem to work (although I can't be sure this is isolated to dev-libs, but so far that seems to be the common factor).
I'm not really sure what I'm doing wrong. I feel like maybe there's a source that needs to be configured? Everything I've found is not exactly what I'm experiencing... |

What is the exact error output? From the shell where it failed, what is the output of cat -n /etc/resolv.conf? |

Ok, I have figured out the issue: it's nothing to do with wget, the wifi configuration didn't get copied correctly. I tried going back to the usb, but it's not working like during the install and I couldn't install anything on that side. So, somehow I need to figure out how to configure the wifi connection from command line. I'm assuming that when I do, this will fix the issue. So, basically I can only install whatever was pulled on the laptop during install. |
