Da un paio di giorni mi da errore in fase di aggiornamento.

Che significa "safe_read failed to read 1 bytes"?
Non ho capito, quale sarebbe il byte che non legge?

Non è che hai provato a fare il sync diverse volte nelle 24h?
Mi sembra di aver avuto un errore simile una volta, in teoria si viene temporaneamente bannati se si lancia il comando emerge sync troppo spesso.
Non vorrei dire una cavolata ma l'errore era quello mi sembra, ho aspettato un giorno, ho riprovato ed è andato a buon fine.
Adesso sono passata a git, ed il problema non si pone più
Però ripeto, non sono sicura

Ho riprovato oggi senza cambiare nulla (non ho avuto il tempo), e adesso funziona.
Anch'io temevo potesse essere un ban temporaneo per abuso. Ma mi pareva un po' strano, oltre che eccessivo. Al secondo giorno mi sono preoccupato...
Generalmente aggiorno la sera quando accendo il pc. Però non spacco il secondo: un giorno alle 19, un altro alle 22...
In tanti anni non ho mai avuto problemi. O_o
Chiaro che se una sera faccio le 22 e un'altra le 20, matematicamente sono meno di 24 ore. Però, insomma, mi pare uno zelo inutile un ban per 2 ore in più o meno... : /
Vabè, nel dubbio in futuro lo farò meno di frequente. Lo faccio ogni giorno appena accendo per non dimenticarmene, e per ridurre al minimo l'impatto su qualsiasi altra cosa mi metta a fare (questo pc è abbastanza veloce, ma per esempio sul vecchio, dove aggiorno più o meno ogni 15gg, come niente mi trovo all'improvviso gcc+clang+llvm+mesa e mi tocca farlo compilare 12 ore!).
In ogni caso, anche dalle risposte che mi date, non mi pare chiarissimo di cosa si tratti. Se è per un ban da abuso, è un po' criptico.
Piuttosto, visto che si può inserire un mirror diverso, posso metterne anche 2-3?
Con gentoo_mirrors in make.conf si può (se ricordo bene basta inserirli tra virgolette separati da spazi).
Se mi confermate che funziona uguale con l'uri di rsync,conf ce li metto, così ho un fallback.
