Hardware:
Lenovo P16v AMD Gen 1
AMD 7950HS w/ Radeon 780M
Nvidia RTX 2000 Ada

Drivers:
AMDGPU - sys-kernel/linux-firmware-20250109-r1
Nvidia-drivers - x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-550.144.03

Kernel:
6.13.1-gentoo-dist

Hello,

I am trying to configure hotplug support over the USB4 ports on my laptop.
I have a AVAccess KVM Switch/Docking Station.
It has two Thunderbolt/USB4 inputs and outputs HDMI.

When I start Xorg with the laptop docked, I get output on the external monitor.
Specifically, XRandR outputs labelled DisplayPort-6 and DisplayPort-7 appear and the monitor works as expected.

If I undock and reconnect, it fails to re-detect the monitor. Connected USB devices take longer to connect.

If I try to dock the laptop after starting X, DisplayPort-6 and DisplayPort-7 do not appear, but USB works as expected.
I have to dock the laptop and restart X to reconnect the monitor.

Plugging an HDMI cable directly into the laptop works as expected. Xorg auto-detects it and I can switch to it just fine.

DP tunneling works normally without Xorg running.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have attached a bunch of logs below.

How does it behave after re-connection if you manually add the monitor using xrandr?

I can't. It fails even if DisplayPort-6 and 7 are present.
