google-authenticator - swaylock

I don't seem to be having any luck with swaylock and Google Authenticator.

I am following the guide here:
https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Google_Authenticator

While I am able to login via console and enter my token just fine, if I start sway, lock the screen and try to unlock the screen, I cannot. I tried:

1. enter normal password
2. enter token

Lastly, I tried just entering my token by itself, but that also did not work.

I also have i3 and i3lock, but with my current setup, it does not unlock.

Any ideas?
