Until cargo-c has been stabilized with libgit2>1.8* then libgit2 will not get 1.9.* installed unless there's something else that needs 1.9 explicitly...

is this cargo-c thing a rust stuff?

cargo is a tool of rust but it's part of the rust package.

Not sure what you have that needs cargo-c... appears to be part of the toolchain to allow C software to link with rust libraries?

Portage is doing the right thing, no need to worry about it IMHO. It's just holding back a package from updating because the new version has no consumers (and the old version is still required) so it'd end up needing to be depcleaned anyway...

after digging a little deeper,

found that it goes to php and gd
:P

becoz my gentoo is somewhat LAMP stuff
hmmm....i guess just stay that way then.... :wink:
