Hi all.
So I have this issue quite frequently, but not all the time. Most recently I encountered it in fresh Gentoo installation in a VM…
Anyway, when I ran getuto to refresh the keys, it gets stuck forever. Usually without any output. Same things happens with emerge when —getbinpkg options is used.
I tried deleting /etc/portage/gnupg/, but the issue remains.
Can someone direct in right direction how to troubleshoot this? |

The only direction I can give you is not do that. My guess is there's not enough entropy for the keys to be generated. Starting over is not going to make it better, but exhaust or even need to wait more for more entropy to accumulate. And since this is a VM, there's not much network activity and other input that helps build it, you're going to wait forever.
If my guess is right, it might be solved by enabling the hw random number generator support in the kernel for your processor on the host.
Best Regards,

Thank you Georgi. Noted.
This last issue in particular is in VM, but it happens on my host as well. Not all the time, but quite frequently - let's say 5/10. |
