|
|
During an update today I discovered that an upgrade of media-libs/taglib was going to rebuild my mythtv systems which I don't want to do. It had already upgraded media-libs/taglib, and the update had the mythtv programs in it's existing preserved-rebuild.
If I mask the newer media-libs/taglib version and downgrade it, I just wanted to be sure that any exiting preserved-rebuild would end up getting cleared when I restart the update and that it would NOT try to rebuild anything using media-libs/taglib.
I'd assume so but wanted to make sure there were no gotchas there.
Thanks!
Tom

So I have the update restarted. I didn't manually downgrade media-libs/taglib but it is in the update to get downgraded to media-libs/taglib-1.13.1.
Right now if I do "emerge -p @preserved-rebuild" is still shows mythtv, however the media-libs/taglib-2.0.2 is still installed. I'm assuming (hoping) that that will go away after that media-libs/taglib downgrade?
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: OK. On one of the two systems that taglib has downgraded and the @preserved-rebuild have in fact gone away. I'll mark this one resolved. Forgive the panic and paranoia .

What is the problem with rebuilding MythTV? An in-place rebuild of the same version should be safe. Did you mean that it would require you to switch to a different and unwanted version of mythtv? |
