Hi,
I didn't have any problems whatsoever the last couple of months with Printing using CUps..but those last days really had me laying on the ground crying for help
The problem is, I did an emerge -U --deep world a few days ago, just like I've done it a dozen times before..I don't know what exactly went wrong, but since that day, neither cups nor samba work anymore.
All that happens when I try to start cups is
* Starting cupsd...
cupsd: Child exited on signal 11! [ !! ]
Samba bails out with
* Starting samba...
/sbin/runscript.sh: line 528: 11490 Abgebrochen start-stop-daemon --start --quiet --exec /usr/sbin/smbd
/sbin/runscript.sh: line 528: 11491 Abgebrochen start-stop-daemon --start --quiet --exec /usr/sbin/nmbd [ !! ]
I already tried to rebuild every dependancy of those two files with an emerge -e samba and emerge -e cups..both emerges ran through without any probelms , but it still didn't work..I downgraded gcc, ran those two emerges again, still no luck..i did an revdep-rebuild, to no avail...is there some way to find out, what exactly causes this problem? Maybe there is a certain library broken or something like that? I'm really grasping straws right now, so any help would be appreciated! |
