Powerbook - 2.6 Kernel - Which mouse option?

Hi all,

I managed to get 2.6 running on my 12" PowerBook, but after I compiled the kernel again and rebooted, the system froze when trying to detect a mouse.

I think I had the Input Devices -> PS/2 Mouse - > Synaptics Touchpad checked off, and it did work, once, but it doesn't anymore. Something else must be the problem.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Each time the system loads with the 2.6 kernel now, I have to boot from a LiveCD and mount my root partition to play around with the options...it stinks :-p...
