Mine does the same, but it still works. If yours is non-functional, it's probably for another reason.
The "ds" module is in the kernel, it would only be made if you built PCMCIA as a module. |

I found a solution to this yesterday.
If you compile the following 2 items as modules in the kernel:
Code: |
<M> PCMCIA/CardBus support
<M> CardBus yenta-compatible bridge support
|
and make sure you have the following entry in /etc/conf.d/pcmcia
Code: | PCIC="yenta_socket" |
then this error should no longer appear while booting. |

I also had to modprobe yenta_socket before pcmcia-cs or cardctl was able to even find an open socket. Even though when I emerged pcmcia-cs, the messages said to disable support for pcmcia in the kernel, you may have to insert a few modules before it recognizes your card. |

Ah! Yes, it seems that it's not on by default. Weel, I enabled it, making it right now. Thanks for the tips, guys! _________________ old outdated sig |

this message displayed while emerging pcmcia-cs applies to the 2.4 kernels. when you emerge pcmcia-cs with a 2.6 kernel the drivers don't get build only the utils. |
