I'm concerned about my cpu temperature when using the 2.6 kenrel. The machine idles at 55-60C, with the 2.4 kernel, it's around 45-50C. _________________ I wish hell would freeze over already.

I have the 8500 as well. I have a few questions.
I am using the gentoo-dev-sources and I cant get my backlight to turn off if I have acpi enabled. I was wondering i you had this problem. |

sorry... i actually don't really bother with acpi/power management, in general, because the laptop is almost always tethered to my desk (with outlet)... from what i've read, acpi is difficult to get going, and incomplete when "gotten" ... |
